Interview with Prof. Renuka Herath - Chairperson of WiLAT Sri Lanka by Representatives of JICA – 26th January 2024

Prof. Renuka Herath- Chairperson of WiLAT was interviewed by a team of representative from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on 26th January 2024. The objective of the interview was to understand the situation regarding transportation in Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo from women’s perspectives for a possible future project formulation. The discussion covered the following areas; − Overview of WiLAT’s efforts including its role, activities member) and future initiatives − Experience and views as women working in the transportation sector − Issues surrounding the transportation and women either as employers/employees and users − Expectations for the Government − Information about other women’s association in the transportation sectors.
