WiLAT & CILT SL conducts a successful Road Show at University of Sri Jayawardanapura, Sri Lanka.


Women in Logistics, Sri Lanka together with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka held their first road show of the year to drive membership on 17th July Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce in University of Sri Jayewardenepura. A target audience of over 60 comprising university lecturers and students participated in the event. Chairperson, CILT Sri Lanka, Ms Gayani de Alwis, CMILT, Dr. Renuka Herath, CMILT, Senior Lecturer at University of Kelaniya, Maithree Attanayaka, CMILT, Ramindu Liyanage, MILT attended the event. Ms. D.M.E. Wedage, head of Department of Decision Sciences & Ms. Gauri Prabhani, a lecturer of Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce in University of Sri Jayewardenepura has organized the event on behalf of the university.


Chairperson, CILT Sri Lanka in her welcome address mentioned that, CILT is the only chartered professional body in the country for professionals engaged in transport, logistics and supply chain and its main aim is to promote continuing professional education in the sector to uplift the professionalism and create value to the economy. She further emphasised that CILT, WiLAT & Young Professionals Forum, YPF which are affiliated to CILT gives a good platform for youngsters to polish up their skills during their academic career which would give them an edge when they graduate. Ramindu Liyanage who has been the president of YPF and currently attached to Hemas Holdings PLC as Manager – Supply Planning took the students and audience through his journey of becoming successful in industry alongside with competitive lead he gained through CILT.
